Flying Doctors Nigeria in partnership with the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter, s taken innovative steps to launch what could be regarded as Nigeria’s first COVID-19 Vehicle Testing booth as part of measures to scale up testing for the virus.
The vehicle testing booth was unveiled in Lagos on Monday by Flying Doctors, a medical emergency service and social enterprise which is West Africa’s first indigenous air ambulance service.
According to the founder of Flying Doctors, West Africa’s first indigenous air ambulance service, Dr. Ola Brown, “the COVID-19 Vehicle Testing booth designed to help ensure healthcare workers safety, enable faster & simpler sample collections & zero logistics cost as samples can be easily taken to molecular labs using the same vehicle.”

“Our innovative COVID-19 mobile testing booths and vehicles were designed and built to not only ensure the safety of healthcare workers at the frontline but to also make the process faster, simpler, and at the same time, help save cost”, she added.

This is a welcome development in the fight against the deadly coronavirus in Nigeria, as the vehicle testing will help reduce the contact between the tester and the patient while making the testing available to Nigerians in nooks and crannies.
