Real Madrid have denied making any transfer bids for Neymar Jnr. , stating that reports of a 310 million-euro ($360-million) bid for the Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian forward are “absolutely untrue”.
The monumental transfer claim was made by Spanish public television station TVE on Monday evening.
Real were quick however, to issue a disclaimer, saying in a statement they had not been consulted by the television station before the broadcast.
The European champions stated unequivocally thus: “Real Madrid have made no offer of any kind to PSG or the player.”
The report came hours after Neymar’s Brazil knocked out Mexico 2-0 in the World Cup last 16 to set up an exciting quarter-final fixture with Belgium.
