New Tech Brands to Emerge as Startup Weekend Uyo makes Debut this Friday

If you always wanted to be part of a tech startup, here is the opportunity you have been waiting for! This weekend, Startup Weekend Uyo will make its debut this month and it’s billed to be the mother of tech outings. It will be a 54 hours with adrenaline mixed with fun and lots of expectations from all teams which will be made of every participant at the venue.

The event themed ‘Let’s Come together to Build the Future’, Startup Weekend Uyo will bring together developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, bloggers, marketing gurus, graphic artists to create work groups to form new startup companies after brainstorming for two days and pitching their demo on the final day, Sunday which is only for Presentations.

Startup Weekend Uyo aims to harness the local skills and talents in creating compelling solutions to problems in our local communities. These solutions will be backed with viable business models that will sustain these startups.

During the weekend, food, internet, accommodation and all necessary comforts will be provided to the participants to help them concentrate on building their various startups. This is made possible through the collaborations within the hubs in Uyo, with Alert Nigeria and Hotels.NG to support the event.

The event will kicks off on Friday at 11am at Hubitz, 69 Enwe Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and  participants are expected to stay together without going home till Sunday, although not compulsory.

Expected as judges at the event are Mark Essien of Hotels.NG, Uche Aniche of VenueHero, David Inyangetoh a software engineer, Glory Elijah, a digital marketer and Iboro Otu of AfriAsia Transalantic.

Startup weekend is powered by Google for Entrepreneurs and Tech-stars. Winners at the upcoming Startup weekend Uyo are expected to feature at the global level and will be sponsored to get their feet strong as entrepreneurs. You can register HERE for the event.
