The afro-funk, jazz and soul artiste born Jemimah Lerato Chulu in her latest song titled 10 Kwacha offers a timely word of encouragement in these tough and uncertain times. A reminder to count your blessings and do the best with what you have.

The song is also an ode to her grandmother who passed in 2018 and was an integral part of Scarlett’s journey.

In the visual of the song shot in Zambia, the director, Lanzee Mulenga captures the story of 10 Kwacha note changing hands and solving little problems for ordinary people as it does for many in the everyday life of Zambians. Scarlett appeals to the listener’s inner optimist and reminds them that “it’s gonna be alright”.
