Legendary Super Eagles Playmaker, Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha has bared the singular reason he brought the curtains down on his football career early.

“Jay Jay” played 73 games for Nigeria and scored 14 goals between 1993 and 2006.

According to sekdrive, the former PSG talisman said a lack of playing time majorly influenced his decision to quit the round leather game.

“I must confess that (not playing getting a lot of playing time) was one of the reasons why I retired from playing at a very young age.

believe that it is not worth to train from Monday to Friday just to have 20 minutes on the pitch or sit on the bench on Saturday. I am very competitive.” He said.

Okocha traversed different leagues in Europe and had stints at Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahçe, Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers, before bringing his career to an end at Hull City in 2008.
