The management of a rapid-growing hospitality outfit in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Watbridge Hotels & Suites, on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 celebrated the facility’s one year anniversary.
In a press briefing organized as part of its activities to mark the anniversary, the management expressed gratitude to God for “His magnanimity has brought this multi-facility hospitality outfit thus far, close to the past 365 days. Ours is simply and truly a story of innovation, focus, determination and passion to make a difference.”
According to an address signed by the General Manager of the establishment, Mr. Sunday Ajayi, Watbridge has won a number of awards for its excellent services, the most recent being the Akwa Ibom Hotel/Tourism Ambassador of the Year Award given by Akwa Ibom State Icons Award (AKIA).
“Activities marking one year anniversary of Watbridge will commence on December 26, with a children’s party and swimming show at our delectable Super Poolside. On December 28, there will be other shows at the poolside. On parade will be Lyta, Honeywail, Enekon, Gentle P, Lybra, Sizobubu, Whypa, A1, Pope Don X, MosByung, Oga Sir, Sir James and Spinosky,” the paper says.
It also gives December 29 as the d-day, noting that the venue for the event will be the 1000-seater Nelson Mandela Banquet Hall, while the anniversary celebration proper will begin that day at 2pm with praise and worship, then speeches and performances.
The management further explained that it is putting measures in place to expand the entertainment industry. “From next year, the audience will from time to time be watching, free, live drama at our Banquet Hall. This, hopefully, will help recreate the old days of watching This is our Chance, King Jaja of Opobo, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, The Trials of Brother Jero, etc. Watbridge will sponsor these appearances, apart from our regular book readings, as our modest contributions to the industry,” it added.
The document also expresses appreciation to the Akwa Ibom State government, the state Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, individuals, non-governmental organizations, corporate entities, religious bodies, media houses, etc. for the support and patronage given the hotel, while also loudly commending the staff which it says have been fantastic.
