Global entertainment leading company, Universal Music Group has launched Def Jam Africa, its new label division within the continent dedicated to representing “the best hip-hop, Afrobeats and trap talent in Africa.
The announcement was made on Tuesday via the label’s official Twitter account.

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria, Def Jam has gone ahead to sign talents across the continent on it’s roster and they include Boity (South Africa), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Larry Gaaga (Nigeria) Nadia Nakai (South Africa). Others are Nasty C (South Africa), Tshego (South Africa), Tellaman (South Africa), Ricky Tyler (South Africa) and Vector (Nigeria).
