Unilorin Female Student in School Detention for Defaulting Against Dress Code

Unilorin Student

A student of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State has been detained and allegedly harassed by the institution’s security operatives for defaulting against its dress code – wearing a nose ring and carrying and unpacked hair.

The student known by the user ID Ontanwa and the handle @tanwa_ on Twitter shared a video of herself showing how she looked  before the incidence which she said spoilt her day.

According to the school rules, it is prohibited for female students to keep unpacked hair or use colourful hair extensions. She had since removed the nose ring and packed the hair while in school detention.

Comments by users of the microblogging app have criticized her for breaking the laid down rules set by the school authorities instead of playing the victim.
