Social Media Rivalry! Nigerian Banks Shade Each Other on Twitter with #BankWars

A couple of Nigerian banks on Saturday took shots at each other, engaging in what is referred to as #BankWars on micro-blogging platform, Twitter.

The banter started off when Sterling Bank, with the intention of gaining credibility, dropped a tweet, accompanied with an image throwing shades on other Nigerian banks, which include Union Bank, First Bank, Access Bank and GT Bank.

The tweet went thus:

This later stirred up controversies from other the banks, as they responded.

First Bank responded to the tweet almost immediately saying:

As if that wasn’t enough they dropped another clapback attaching a short clip to it. See video below:

It didn’t end there as Union bank also dropped a fierce comeback! The tweet went thus:

They also dropped another one that says:

We are yet to hear from GT and UBA Banks didn’t make any responses.
