Photos from the #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality Protest in Uyo


The #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality protests which have been ongoing in across several States in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja of the was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday,13th October 2020.

Despite the non-approval of the protest by the State Police Commissioner, the protesters took to the streets in agitation for an end to Police brutality and scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit.

From the hours of 10 am, the protesters marched from the Oron road/Nwaniba roundabout area of the capital city down to Wellington Bassey Way were the Governor alongside the police commissioner addressed them.

The Governor, HE Deacon Udom Emmanuel listened to the request of the protesters and urged the citizens to continue to maintain peace and order in State as God will continue to protect them from further police harassment.


The protesters after listening to the Governor continued the protest to different locations of the state and finally ended the protest at the heart of the city popularly known as ‘Ibom Plaza’.

Uyo Protest had over 500 protesters, with Mmanti Umoh, Solomon Buchi, Lybra, Freke Umoh, Pastor Runice Mike, Bobby Friga, Leki and others were present at the protest.

The Uyo #EndSARS protest has been declared the most peaceful so far in the country. See pictures below.
