One of the world’s best and English league’s finest goalkeeper, Petr Čech has announced that he will be ‘hanging his gloves’, after 20 successful football years at the end of the season.

With over 20 years of playing which he won 18 major trophies, Petr announced via a tweet that “it is the right time for me to retire.”

The 37year old former Cezch Republic captain, Petr Čech is the only goalkeeper to keep 200+ clean sheets in the Premier League. Having played 333 games for Chelsea, 110 for Arsenal with 163 and 40 clean sheets respectively.

Petr Čech has more saves in the Premier League than any other goalkeeper since such data started to be collected in 2006/07.

There are rumors that Chelsea want Cech back on staff after the goalkeeper retires from playing.

We wish him well in life after active football.
