Wife of Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo, on Monday charged her him to an Ikeja High Court, over the wedding of their son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, which is scheduled for May 11, reports Vanguard.
Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo is requesting for a postponement of the wedding of her son to Tope Adebutu, daughter of Kessington Adebutu, the promoter of Premier Lotto known as “Baba Ijebu” who she also joint in the suit.
Her reason for this is that she had received warnings and prophesies from men of God that her son should not be involved in any elaborate celebration before his 34th birthday on June 1. She also claims wedding invitations have been sent out and she has been excluded from the preparations for the ceremonies.
She wants the court to compel Adebutu and Obasanjo to shift the wedding to a date after June 1 after she had appealed to Adebutu, the bride’s mother Rosemary Dacosta, and the bride, Tope Adebutu. Taiwo Obasanjo, as the mother of the groom, says she has the rights to take part in the deliberations, decisions and activities leading to the forthcoming ceremony.
Justice Lateefa Okunnu has fixed April 10 for the hearing of the suit no. ID/262FPM/2017.
