Nigerian Labour Congress Suspends Strike Action

NLC suspends Strike

Organized Labour Union in Nigeria under the umbrella body, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has discontinued its ongoing strike action, reports Premium Times.

The National President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday in Abuja.

“The suspension takes effect from today Sunday,” he said.

Workers resumes on Tuesday as Monday has been declared a public holiday by the federal government to mark the October 1 Independence Day in the country.

The strike commenced on September 26 following the demands by workers of new minimum wage of about N50,000 instead of the current national minimum wage of N18,000.
