Olympic legend Usain Bolt previously expressed his dream of representing Manchester United and he had the opportunity to work with head coach Jose Mourinho this weekend.
The game, organised by watch brand Hublot, brought together legends like Patrick Kluivert and Roberto Carlos, while Diego Maradona was Mourinho’s opposing manager.
Bolt featured under Mourinho’s management in the ‘Match Of Friendship’ in Basel and after the game, Mourinho ran his rule over the eight-time Olympic Gold medalist’ ability.
“I think the size of the pitch was too small for Usain,” Mourinho commented.
“I think it was designed to suit the older players who don’t run so much but still have lots of skill.
“I think Usain’s best strength is his physicality, his speed and his aggressive movements, so he is probably better suited to a full-size pitch with eleven a side.”
Bolt will feature in an 11-a-side UNICEF Charity fixture in partnership with Soccer aid at Old Trafford on Sunday.
