A man by name, Christopher Eno was shot dead on Sunday in his car on his way to Uyo by a military man he gave a ride from Eleme junction in Rivers State, to Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State.
The man in the military uniform was heading to Ikot Abasi LGA in Akwa Ibom State met the now late Christopher at Eleme Junction and begged for a lift which the innocent car owner gave him a lift. Christopher has possibly thought that the military man will help him through all the multiple checkpoints along Ogoni Road.
Unknown to Christopher, the man he offered assistant to had an ulterior motive – to kill him along the way and snatch the car. This hatchet plan actually succeeded, sniffing the life of his innocent helper, but also unknown to him was that the car had a tracker, as this was used to track him down to a hotel in Ukanafun LGA on Tuesday and arrested by security operatives.
According to an eyewitness report, the man with the name tag Stephen I was picked up by military hierarchy at the Akwa Ibom State Police headquarters for identification and a possible Court Marshal before handing him over to the police for prosecution.
