Ahead of President Buhari‘s reelection campaign rally in Lagos on Saturday, trucks and tankers parked on the Eko Bridge have been evacuated.
This has sparked a lot of negative response on from residents of the State on social media, many who have expressed disappointment in the Ambode government for lacking for not finding lasting solutions, except during the president’s visit to Lagos.
8 Days to the Elections and everything in Lagos seems to be working fine..
– ASUU Calls Off Strike
– Tankers on Ikorodu Road/Eko Bridge Cleared
– Pot-Holes on Major Roads been filled up
– Even the light in my area now stays for hours. How long do we continue this facade!

So you people are telling me that they could clear Eko bridge of all the tankers and trailers overnight, yet for ALMOST 3 YEARS we have been suffering and endangering our lives???
APC rally is more important than the lives and well-being of the citizens???— Obsidian 🗿 (@Danonles91) February 8, 2019
For almost 4 years thousands of tankers and trailers parked on Eko Bridge, Apapa- Oshodi expressway, Ikorodu Road and western avenue. 48 hrs to President Buhari’s visit, they’ve been removed. Apparently, there was a racket going on: the vehicles paid N20,000 parking fee PER DAY! pic.twitter.com/TNks7GM4ng

Trailers and tankers all the way down from Eko bridge have been magically removed!
I just want to know something…
Who gave the order for their removal?

UPDATE:
It took me 17mins to get to Lagos Island from Surulere.
Apparently the tankers are off Awolowo road through to Eko bridge but they wouldn’t be off the road for long as they can be seen in residential areas.
These people don’t rate us and we do the most for them 🤦🤦

3 times I’ve seen tankers cleared completely off Eko bridge; Dangote’s daughter’s wedding, Lagos Marathon, and for Buhari’s visit this Saturday.
These people really don’t give a fuck about you.

See how deceitful Lagos is, as part of the plan for Buhari Visit to Lagos tomorrow 10th Feb, the tankers and trailers on Eko bridge has suddenly disappeared

So they can remove the tankers on that eko bridge, mad people mad country, I have been in traffic on that bridge for 2 whole hours before

The presence of trucks and tankers on the bridge have been a major cause of traffic gridlock in the ever growing city, making movement difficult for residents.
