All is set for the release of Citation, the latest movie project by Nigerian ace film producer and director Kunle Afolayan, to an international viewing audience, with a date for it’s premiere on global film streaming platform, Netflix.
Afolayan made the announcement on Monday when he took to his Instagram account to disclose Friday, November 6, 2020, as the official release date for “Citation” on Netflix.

This comes shortly after a well-attended exclusive premiere of the movie on Friday, October 31st, 2020 at Terra Kulture.
The movie screening had in attendance the cast of Citation alongside the partners behind the movie and other important guests like Adedayo Thomas, the President and Executive Producer of All Africa Music Awards( AFRIMA), Chief and Mrs Taiwo, The former commissioner for information and strategy and former commissioner for arts and culture Lagos state, amongst others.
According to the award-winning filmmaker, the movie evoked a lot of emotions after the premiere and finally, the long wait for this mind-blowing movie will be coming to an end as we begin a countdown.
Citation’s central theme is ‘sexual abuse in universities’, which is set on exploring the subject of social decadence in the educational sector, as the movie intends to encourage people to “sorosoke”(speak up) against sexual-based crimes.
The new movie is a college drama about a female postgraduate student who has to find a way of dealing with the awkward situation of sexual harassment from a lecturer.
