Not less than 3,753 students from southern Kaduna youth and students forum (SKYSFOM) have declared that they are not interested in the Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s administration.
Gidan Waya who passed a vote of no confidence in Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s administration, said that it is unfortunate that Kaduna state government is making things difficult for educational growth in the state.
The students made this known in a statement issued on Monday, July 17, through Galadima Jesse, SKYSFORM president. They condemned the continuous closure of the College of Education (COE), Gidan Waya, College of Nursing, Kafanchan and Kaduna State University (KASU) in the state.
They also said there is no rational reason to the indefinite closure of the college of education.
In a statement sent in through the SKYSFORM president it reads: “Why is kaduna state government making things so complex as if Southern Kaduna is still in crisis. “Having found no rational reason to the indefinite closure of our schools, we resorted to the vote of no confidence exercise against Governor Nasir el-rufai.
After all collation was officially closed, a total of 3,753 members satisfactorily signed the register for the passage of the vote of no confidence in the leadership and its negative posture to our members.
This outcome is indeed remarkable, that in such a short time, giving the hardship by our poor members to either vote online or to travel to our designated points of voting. The group also sought for “intervention” as well as “justice and restitution for what we have lost” from various national and international organisation.
The students also noted that if the state government fails to open the schools on or before July 19, 2017, it would be compelled to take “a different legitimate action”.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai in 2010 described the then General Muhammadu Buhari as an expired and unelectable candidate.
The ex-Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on new media, Reno Omokri, in his Facebook post, displayed newspaper cuttings where El-Rufai lambasted the former Head of state, Ibrahim Babangida and President Muhammadu Buhari as he described the duo as expired and perpetually unelectable candidates.
