
John Christopher Deep popularly known as Johnny Depp an actor, producer and musician has officially resigned from his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic beasts films following abuse allegations between him and his ex-wife actress Amber Heard.
The announcement came from the notable film star in an Instagram post where he said”: … I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have accepted and agreed to that request..” This came days after he lost his libel case over claims of abuse.
Depp best known as the swaggering Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean had sued a British tabloid The Sun, for labelling him a “wife-beater, during his relationship with his ex-wife Amber. However, he lost his libel case and also said in the Instagram statement, “…Finally, I wish to say this, the surreal judgement of the court in the W.k will not change my fight, to tell the truth, and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false.”

Warner Bros in a statement through a multi-media entertainment group, Just Jared, said “Johnny Depp will depart the Fantastic Beasts franchise. We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date. Fantastic Beasts is currently in production and the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast. The film will debut in theatres worldwide in the summer of 2022.”
