Nigerian film creative, Effiom Effiom is assertive that although the Ibibio language is spoken by a minority people in Nigeria, its movies have the potential to thrive on both the national and the international levels.
The One2 Films boss whose skill set includes, scriptwriting, film directing and film editing disclosed this via a virtual chat with Hypestation, stating that with the aid of technology, the Ibibio language doesn’t need marketers with bricks and mortar outlets to drive sales.
“Technology has allowed thriving in every industry, filmmaking is not an exception, our dialect movies can thrive nationally and internationally via online platforms without marketers with bricks and mortar outlets”.
When asked if there was any limitation for the promotion of visual contents with the Ibibio and Efik languages, considering them belonging to the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria with just two States, he said that the people from far and wide are interested in the contents so our size or number of States poses no limitations.
“We might be small but we are among the most creative as such we are well sort after, people from far and wide, different tribes and culture are interested in our content, so our size or number of States poses no limitations”.
