Rising Nigerian singer, Emy P has opened up about his love life, saying he had doubted the existence of true love, although that is a different story now as he is experiencing it for the first time in his life.
The ‘Owo Okuk’ crooner christened Emem Paulinus hinted this during a conversation with a Hypestation correspondent, stating that he has experienced series of heartbreaks and toxic relationships, despite the material sacrifices he made had, thinking they would end up together forever.
“Many of experiences I’ve had including heartbreaks, toxic relationships, break up. I left my home and property in Lagos to a woman I fell in love with, thinking we would end up together forever. She wasn’t a big supporter of my music career, wasn’t friendly with family and not ready to submit to anyone. We finally broke up during one of my trips when I visited Akwa Ibom. I made up my mind not to go back to pick anything.”
Things changed some months after for the Akwa Ibom born singer as he went on to become the winner for Season 3 of the ‘Faces of Images’ reality show in 2019. Shortly afterwards, he found
“After some months I enrolled in a reality tv show and I won. Then a couple of months after during stepdad’s burial I found my true love and to date, I have witnessed what it feels like to be in love. Due to my previous experience with my ex-lover, I doubted I could ever find true love, but now it’s entirely a new story. It feels like a dream come true and I know a lot of persons out there feels the same”, he adds.
For him, love is about endurance and making sacrifices, even when one gets to feel hurt but it will eventually heal. This story he wants to share in his forthcoming single titled ‘Before’.
“Love heals even when you feel hurt. Though it might feel hard, finding truly it does exist and so, I had to share in my newest song – ‘Before’”, he concluded.
