Aaron Chukwuemeka

A young man by name Aaron Chukwuemeka has said that he is #ProudlyNigerian after being denied a remote job placement by a firm in the faraway People’s Republic of China.

Aaron shared his story on Friday via micro-blogging platform, Twitter some hours after he was turned by his prospective employees who interviewed him through Skype.

“Had a Skype interview this morning for a job in China, the interview was going on smoothly until it got to the stage where I was asked what my nationality was. I responded with all confidence that I hold an African passport, Nigerian to be precise. Two seconds, the interviewer said”

“I am sorry we cannot take your application further because the government/immigration requirements for a work visa is only open to South Africa, UK, USA, Canada and Europe”. Immediately my countenance changed, I tried all I could to persuade and possibly offer an alternative.”

I felt like crying, wishing I hold dual citizenship. The pay is juicy and the perks that come with the offer is jaw-dropping. I feel so sad right now. 😥😥

“Still on still, I am #proudlyNigerian. God will take charge”, he concluded.

This is what Nigerians carrying out legitimate endeavours are beginning to face, especially after billionaire entrepreneur, Invictus Obi was arrested by the FBI for wire fraud and 80 others were indicted by the United States Department of Justice in connection to massive fraud.
