Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai on Monday enrolled his son, Abubakar Al-Siddique El-Rufai as a Primary One pupil of Kaduna Capital School.

Mallam El-Rufai made it known via his official twitter account.

On 28 Dec 2017, the governor said he had pledged to be an example and ensuring that his son will be enrolled in a public school in Kaduna State when the boy turns six years of age.

Read below his reason for the decision for the enrollment of young Abubakar in a public school:

Reforming the Education sector in Kaduna is a continuing struggle against decades of neglect. But the @elrufai govt has a strong commitment to fix public education and raise the standard of public schools so that private education will become only a luxury.

This is a welcome development by a sitting Nigerian governor. The question is, how many public office holders can and will emulate this example in a bid to bring a reform to the ailing education sector in the country?
