On 28 Dec 2017, the governor said he had pledged to be an example and ensuring that his son will be enrolled in a public school in Kaduna State when the boy turns six years of age.
Read below his reason for the decision for the enrollment of young Abubakar in a public school:
Reforming the Education sector in Kaduna is a continuing struggle against decades of neglect. But the @elrufai govt has a strong commitment to fix public education and raise the standard of public schools so that private education will become only a luxury.
This is a welcome development by a sitting Nigerian governor. The question is, how many public office holders can and will emulate this example in a bid to bring a reform to the ailing education sector in the country?
