#EndSARS: Several Killed as Soldiers Open Fire to Disperse Lagos Protesters

Some Nigerian soldiers have opened fire on protesters in Lagos at the Lekki Toll Gate area, killing at least 7 persons in a bid to disperse the crowd.

According reports, several persons have been killed as Nigerian soldiers opened fire on the #EndSARS protesters bus 7pm at the Lekki Toll Gate area of Lagos State in a bid to disperse the crowd.

This comes after the State governor, Babajide Sanwolu had issued a curfew on all parts of the State from 4 pm, calling an end to the protest in Lagos.

Report from the protest ground also says that earlier before evening, the CCTV cameras at the toll gate and the LED panel were removed, while power was turned off.



Videos made available on social media show the soldiers and the dead bodies of some of the protesters, as many Nigerians have reacted to the act as a massacre on the citizens by the government.



Shortly after several deaths were recorded, an update was made on official Lagos State Government Twitter handle @followlasg, saying:

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that enforcement of the 24hour curfew in the State should not start until 9 pm to enable people stuck in traffic get to their destinations.
