A high court sitting  in Abuja has dismissed Senator Akpabio’s case seeking to stop the issuance of certificate of return to Senator-Elect Engr. Chris Ekpenyong.

INEC had declared Mr Ekpenyong, a former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom, winner of the election for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, against the incumbent Senator, Godswill Akpabio.

According to the result announced by the returning officer, Prof. Peter Oban, Mr Akpabio scored 83,158 votes, while Mr Ekpenyong scored 118,215 votes.
