Citizens Burst Open Warehouse Filled with COVID-19 Palliatives in Calabar


A warehouse filled with food items meant to be distributed as palliatives during the #CoViD19 lockdown has been burst open on Friday, October 23, 2020 by the people of Calabar, Cross River State.

According to reports, the warehouse is located around Clement Ebri Drive, State Housing Estate, Calabar.

Viral videos available online show the people moving in large numbers to take their share of the items after the discovery was made.


The food items include bags of rice, garri, cartons of noodles amongst many others as seen the poeple carting away the items out on their shoulders or vehicles.

The first discovery of this nature was at a warehouse at the Maza-maza area of Lagos reportedly under the Oba’s care.

This is the fifth State this type of discovery has been made since the #EndSARS protest across the country. Other states include Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Kwara and now Cross River.
