Buhari Extends IGP’s Tenure by Three Months


 

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, has announced the extension of the tenure of the current Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu by three months.

The Minister made this announcement on Thursday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja ending speculations about the appointment of a new Inspector General of Police, since the current IGP’s tenure was supposed to have ended after attaining 35 years of service.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi has said this extension was to provide an opportunity for the proper selection of a replacement to take over the role of IG.

This also confirms the report that IGP Mohammed  Adamu was at his office a day after he retired from service.
