The Independent National Electoral Commission office in Mkpat Enin local government area of Akwa Ibom State have been reportedly hit by explosive.
According to reports, the incident happened at around 1:30am in the early hours of Sunday when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded few meters away from office. Part of INEC office was reportedly affected.
It was also gathered that the whole office would have been brought down if not for the second device that failed to detonate which was later discovered in the generator house.
Already, two suspects identified to be indigenes of Rivers state have been reportedly picked up by men of the Nigerian army and handed over to the Police. Sum of N200,000 was found on the suspects as at the time of the arrest.
