Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has sacked his Senior Special Assitant on Security, James Nwafor for the alleged dozens of extrajudicial killings in the State as the former OC SARS Awkuzu.

Mr Obiano made this known while addressing the #EndSARS protesters in the State, saying that the retired police officer, James Nwafor, is not only sacked but will be prosecuted for all his atrocities that claimed the lives of hundreds of young men in Anambra, while others in custody will be released.

This statement was also tweeted in his Twitter handle and it reads:

Today, I joined youths of our dear State to say #EndPoliceBrutality and I support them because they did not only vote and defend their votes in my 21-over-21 victory but all their requests are genuine and germane; and I oblige to honour them all.

I felt honoured being in their midst to share in their feelings; and I made it clear that: First, Federal Government has disbanded SARS but I will personally visit all SARS offices in Anambra State to ensure that anyone being held is released, immediately.

The decision comes after the people of Anambra joined the #EndSARS protest, demanding justice for families of the victims of these crimes committed under the guise of being SARS officers.

Several revelations have been made about James Nwafor’s bloodlust and oppression of young people in Awkuzu, one of which is the Ezu River Massacre in 2012. There over 100 people were killed and their bodies were thrown into the river.
