This convening is hosted by Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability and Professionalism (LEAP) Africa in partnership with the Ford Foundation.

To provide context to this invitation, LEAP Africa is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization established in 2002; committed to developing dynamic, innovative and principled African leaders. Over the years, LEAP has inspired and equipped its beneficiaries to lead ethically while implementing positive change projects that transform their communities and organizations; thereby sustaining livelihood and contributing to national development.

In response to leadership and life skills gap within the country, iLEAD is a two-year project developed by LEAP Africa in partnership with Ford Foundation designed to provide youth in select public secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State with the leadership, life and employability skills to achieve personal success and transition into higher education or paid employment. The programme also aims at equipping dynamic graduate youth who have demonstrated a passion for social development with the knowledge, skills and experience to become change leaders in their communities, and key contributors to the development sector.

As the first year of the project comes to a close we would like to invite you and another representative from your organization to a Stakeholders meeting and a graduation ceremony for the iLEAD fellows.

The purpose of the meetings is to share lessons learned from the first year of the project and discuss the theme “Leadership and Life Skills: Strengthening the Quality of Public Secondary Education in Akwa Ibom State.”

The meeting will comprise public, private and development sector stakeholders including:

  1. Akwa Ibom Ministry of Education
