The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has scored Governor Udom Emmanuel high on medical intervention and commitment in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.
Rt. Hon. Bassey said this on Friday during the commissioning of state-of-art 300-Bed Space Isolation Centre at Methodist General Hospital, Ituk Mbang, Uruan Local Government Area.
In his words: “I Thank God for the Governor we have today, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. Two years ago he made a promise that we will return to this hospital and today, it is here for us to see. The people of Uruan remain grateful for this gift.”
The Speaker congratulated Governor Emmanuel on his outstanding performance within the first one year in his second term in office, which, according to him, is what triggered members of 7th Assembly to unanimously pass a vote of confidence on the Governor.
He further commanded the governor for using wisdom in his leadership in tackling the issue of Covid-19 in the State which he believed, the state will surmount the pendamic through wisdom in leadership.
