The Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey has commended The RootHub Accelerator Systems for being consistent in driving digital literacy in the State.
Rt. Hon. Bassey who is the member representing Ini State Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Science & Tech in the State legislature said this during a familiarisation visit to the headquarter of The RootHub on Tuesday. He stated that he is impressed with the level of work done by the Hub’s founders, considering the difficulty of running a business in Nigeria.
“I am impressed with the work your guys have done, looking at the number of years you have put into this. With the right support, you will do more and The RootHub deserves it! I am open to working with you for the advancement of technology for the benefit of Akwa Ibom people.”
He was taken on a tour of the 3 floor building by our CEO, to see the available facilities such as the training sections, the Build-A-Tech hardware lab (which comprises of 3D printers, repair stations, Laser cutters etc), the shared work space and discuss how tech can provide opportunities for young people in the State.
Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey also felicitated with the hub on being part of the 2020 cohort of the Facebook Community Accelerator program, saying it wasn’t a small feat being part of 4 Nigerian communities out of the total 5,000 applications from a across the world.
