The Bridge Leadership Foundation (TBLF) is scheduled to hold the 2019 Career Day on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), Cross River State by 8am.
The one-day conference which is the 9th edition themed “Technology and Innovation: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future” plans to host over 5000 youths from Calabar and the immediate environs to an insightful, engaging and enlightening experience that will equip young people on the opportunities that abound through technology and innovation and how to upturn the challenges therein too.
The Career Day Conference engages the best minds in the fields of career, leadership development, business consulting, entrepreneurship, technology and youth development in Nigeria and across Africa as speakers who by sharing their knowledge, expertise and experiences inspire, empower, educate and equip young people with the knowledge and tools required to improve their career, businesses, well-being and the society at large. The past eight editions have been hugely successful with a yearly attendance of over 5000 young people across the south-south region of Nigeria
The 2019 Career Day will therefore provide a knowledge exchange and transfer experience that will empower youths to explore innovative ideas for tackling challenges in education, job creation, employment and building strong sustainable communities. It will inspire cross fertilization of ideas in different sectors while guiding them to take advantage of these opportunities. Importantly, it will speak to the need for sustainable investments and partnerships that should drive technology and innovation in Nigeria, especially in the Southern region of Nigeria. Other sub-themes of the conference include the future of workplace skills and jobs, accelerating business growth through technology, growing local tech and innovation communities, and sustainable investment/partnerships for innovation growth.
As at today, the world of work, business, education, health, finance, community growth and human development is changing at a fast pace than we knew it a decade ago. Technology and Innovation is influencing growth and development across all sectors of human life promising enormous opportunities and arguably posing several challenges as well. Innovative products are increasingly being churned out making Nigeria attractive to the world’s venture capitalist and attracting angel investors to the country’s young and unregulated technology startups.
