Senator Akpabio Allegedly Orders the Detention of Popular Akwa Ibom Blogger, Utitiofon Morgan

Popular Akwa Ibom blogger of Sitippe.com, Utitofon Morgan has been detained police, alleged to have been on the orders of the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

 

Utitiofon is said to have been invited to the State Police headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia on Monday afternoon for questioning, after Akpabio petitioned the Inspector General of the Force in Abuja, for defamation of character over a news publication that was made online.

 

The story was captioned “CBN probes Akpabio’s N865b unrecorded deposits in 3 banks” was published by a certain “The Fact Reporters” and this does not augur well with the Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

 

According to our findings, Mr. Morgan who is not linked to the online news platform has been wrongfully held behind bars at the SARS unit, after it was clearly stated that is was a case of mistaken identity.

 

Also, its been gathered that the police is currently beaming their searchlight for Ms Ndifreke Enefiok, publisher of Facts Reporters.
