The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), says it is committed to any initiative or concept that will enhance youth development in Nigeria and however, will collaborate with Nollywood’s Sylvia Edem on her ‘Nigeria Peace Project’.
The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Sokubo Sara-Igbe stated this when Nollywood actress and founder of Nigeria Peace Project, Sylvia Edem and her team paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Port-Hacourt.
Sukubo said he will support any project that will improve the living standards of youths across Nigeria, adding that as the President of NYCN it is his responsibility to ensure the right of the youths are protected. He however commended the founder of the Nigeria Peace Project for deeming it fit to visit him and promised to partner with her by initiating programs that will better the lives of the youth.
Earlier, the founder of Nigeria Peace project Sylvia Edem said the initiatives is being conceived by her to give the youths in Nigeria especially those residents in the rural areas a better reorientation and integration into the society by engaging them in skill acquisition schemes that will provide them the opportunity to have their source of livelihood .
According to her, we intend to hold a mega peace rally across different State in Nigeria. “The Mega peace rally will be flagged off in Rivers and Akwa Ibom States before the general election because I think that peace is the only foundation that will enable development” concluded the Nollywood star.
