Nollywood act and producer, Aniebiet Francis has embarked on another life-touching project and this time around, its targeted at young women.
The empowerment project tagged U40 Eveprenuers, is a platform that sets out to harvest Under-Forty(40) female entrepreneurs and groom them into successful CEOs.
U40 Eveprenuers was officially launched on Monday, 22 May 2019 at the Root Hub complex. It was attended by friends, colleagues and beneficiaries of the project.
“It was becoming cumbersome counseling, advising and chatting about three girls in a day, I started thinking of ways to engage a larger number simultaneously. Hence the birth of U40 EVEPRENUERS”, she stated.
This came on the heels of the successful premiere of her first feature, ‘The Final List’ in August 2018. “My messenger (WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook, Instagram) were filled with congratulatory messages and mentorship requests from young women who see me as a source of inspiration and motivation (I am yet to understand why they choose me, despite my flaws)”, Aniebiet added.
“I picked special interest in the ones with passion for enterprise. Each time I chatted/spoke with them, I saw young women with the zeal to change their stories and better their society, if only they could get a little support. I could feel their pulse because I have worn their shoes before. I have experienced failure, rejection, disappointment.”
Aniebiet’s vision through the ‘U40 Evepreneurs’ project is to alleviate poverty through empowerment of young women, raise a generation of successful under-forty female CEOs, while promoting unity amongst female entrepreneurs.
One of the members who has passion for writing stories, was introduced her to Tush Stories platform to take care of her publishing challenge.
Two other members got a free slot to acquire fashion designing skills at House of Borah, while another member of the group promised to assist one of the ladies with money for logistics and transport fare. Others got financial support for the work tools, business registration, shop rent, making it a total of 12 women who got financial support.
Efforts will be made to take the female entrepreneurship campaign to tertiary Institutions of learning, tagged: Evepreneurs Entrepreneurial Revolution Outreach. This will be in preparation for U40 EVEPRENUERS TRADE FAIR scheduled for December 2019.
