World best player, Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed he would love to play against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The Real Madrid star made the revelation during a chat with a delegation from Rivers State, who were present at the Santiago Bernabeu to discuss the possibilities of the Spanish club setting up an academy back home in their state.
According to a member of the delegation, Adokiye Amiesimaka, who spoke in an interview with Brila FM, Ronaldo was delighted to have them and also asserted that Nigeria was a great football nation.
“We had the opportunity of meeting with Ronaldo and he also had a great pleasure meeting us. He was happy. He expressed himself saying Nigeria is a great football nation he will want to play against,”
“He made it known that he knew we were the first African nation to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. He said he will be looking forward to meet Nigeria in Russia,” a member of the delegation, Adokiye Amiesimaka, disclosed in an interview with Brila FM.
Draws for the Mundial will hold on December 1 and who knows, the world’s best player might just have his wish.
