John Terry gets First Post-Retirement Appointment with Aston Villa


Former England and Chelsea captain, John Terry has gotten his first post-player appointment as an assistant coach of Aston Villa Villa FC.

This happened a few days after he announced his retirement from professional football.

This was made known by Villa’s CEO Christian Purslow on the official Aston Villa FC Tweeter handle.


“We are delighted to announce the appointments of Dean Smith as our new Head Coach, John Terry as Assistant Coach and Jesus Garcia Pitarch as Sporting Director.”

“John is one of the most decorated players in English football, has an affinity with the club and is ready to make the next step in his career working alongside Dean.”

Terry is appointed to assist Dean Smith the newly appointed head coach, replacing Steve Bruce who was sacked by the Brexford side.
