Gov Udom announces Plans for Akwa Ibom Creative Sector, as Victory and State Anniversary Concert set for Monday

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has announced plans to establish a hub for creatives and entertainers in the State.

The governor made the pronouncement at the Wellington Bassey globe on Friday, September 20, 2019, when he was received by a mammoth crowd comprising of entertainers, students and youths led by the pioneer Special Assistant to Governor on Entertainment Industry, David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom).

In his remark, the number one citizen reiterated the need to be creative and birth noble ideas, he charged the audience and Akwa Ibom people at home and abroad to create ideas to assist government serve them better and gave assurance that his administration would reward great ideas from the citizenry to move the state forward.

‘I am already in talks with partners on an idea for students, which I will extend to entertainers, by providing technical support to artists, artistes and photographers ‘ he stated.

While speaking, Mr Emmanuel also confirmed his attendance at the planned Victory Concert scheduled to hold at Ibom Plaza on Monday, September, 23 to celebrate the governor’s victory at the Election Tribunal and also to mark the creation of the state thirty-two (32) years ago.

Deacon Udom thanked the entertainers for their unwavering support and dedicated the victory to God and to Akwa Ibom people.

In a chat with Utang Akwa Ibom after his reception for the governor, he stated that the planned concert, tagged ‘UDOM VICTORY CONCERT + Akwa Ibom at 32 Celebration’ will feature spectacular performances by a carefully selected crop of entertainers to make the show power-packed, owing to the many reasons for celebration.
