Global streaming service, Netflix has secured the worldwide rights to Genevieve Nnaji’s movie, ‘Lionheart’.
The movie was picked on Friday by the streaming giant shortly before its international premiere at Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) on Saturday is Genevieve’s debut at directing.
‘Lionheart’ is a story of a young woman Adaeze, who steps up to the challenge when her father, Chief Ernest Obiagu is forced to take a step back due to health issues. Ironically, he appoints his crude and eccentric brother, Godswill, instead to run the company with his young daughter. Complications arise when they discover that the family business is in dire financial straits and both Adaeze and Godswill try to save the company in their own way to crazy and often hilarious results.
The film stars Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwen Kanayo O. Kanayo, Kalu Ikeagwu, Peter “Mr. P” Okoye.
It is said to be the first Netflix acquired movie from Nigeria
