Just as anticipated, Drake’s fifth album “Scorpion” breaks the US streaming records as it reached over 1 billion streams globally in its first week.
According to Billboard, in its first week, it recorded 745.92 million streams thereby exceeding Post Malone’s “Beerbong & Bentleys” which attained 431 million streams in its first week earlier in the year.
The album sold out 732,000 copies in the US, taking the spot for the largest debut in 2018, and Drake is now in possession of four out of the top 10 streaming weeks ever for an album, according to Billboard.
The un-heard of numbers Drake put up with “Scorpion” and his last project “More Life” held the record for global streams with over 600million in its first views, aren’t likely to be beaten or equaled any time soon. At least until he decides to release another.
