The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Orman Esin has said that the 2019 Christmas celebration in Akwa Ibom will capture the real essence of Christmas and will be a unique one.

Hon Esin revealed this on Tuesday during an interaction with participants of the ongoing Royal Arts Academy Film Workshop holding at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo.

“Akwa Ibom, the only state named after God, is blessed to have a Governor like Mr Udom Emmanuel, who has mandated his Ministry to put together an event that will showcase the true meaning of Christmas, tell #TheChristmasStory and project Jesus as God’s true #GiftToHumanity”, he said.

He further stated that plans are in top gear to give Akwa Ibom residents and visitors a memorable Christmas experience with an event tagged #IbomChristmasCelebration, adding that the event will feature the opening of the Christmas Village, Children’s Parade and the #IbomChristmasParade, which will have five bands namely; Grace Band, Victory Band, Praise band, Divine band and Glory band. The religious undertone of each band significantly brings to bear, the desire of the state government to re-echo the true essence of Christmas to the people.

He ended by saying that registration into different bands has commenced and that the entire state should watch out and take part in the forthcoming Ibom Christmas Celebrations.
