Last week Christmas Stakeholders meeting of Uyo Senatorial District hosted by Senator Bassey Albert, Senator Representing Uyo Senatorial District at his liaison office in Uyo has put to an end to the agitation on who become the next member representing Uyo Federal Constituency come 2019.

The meeting which afforded stakeholders the opportunity to apraise the contributions of political office holders and other individuals within the Senatorial District unanimously endorsed and declared Mr Udom Emmanuel for a second term as Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Bassey Albert for second term, Mr Emmanuel Okon (Eminence Oil) for Uyo Federal Constituency, and Barr Onofiok Luke for Etinan Federal Constituency.

The declaration which was made by Senator Effiong Dickson Bob, was based on the seemingly poor performance of the current member representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and the need to sustain rotational arrangement in Etinan Federal Constituency for peace.

The leaders asked Mr Emmanuel Okon who is the CEO/MD of Eminence Oil and Chemicals to present himself for nomination and contest the Federal House of Representatives seat come 2019.

According to Senator Bob who’s declaration was dramatic, simply asked all the federal lawmakers within Uyo Senatorial District presence at the meeting to rise, but non of the three house of representatives members were presence except Hon Henry Archibong who took permission to join later, Senator Bob declared, “we will bless whoever we see. Onofiok Luke rise for Etinan Federal Constituency, Eminence rise for Uyo Federal Constituency, two of you should go and succeed. Praise the Lord”.

Mr Emmanuel Okon was immediately invited to take his seat on the high table with the leaders.

It was also agreed at the meeting that Uyo Senatorial District must lead the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019 and continue to give political direction in the state.
