December 10, 2016 will forever hold sad memories as disaster struck one year ago at the Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital when the church building collapsed and killed many of the worshippers and visitors who gathered to witness the ordination of the church’s founder, Akan Weeks.
The tragedy turned many to widows, widowers, orphans and some crippled, while cutting short the bright future of others.
In a reflection, Event Compere and Special Assistant to governor Udom Emmanuel on Public Affairs, Mr. Raphael Edem who came out alive of the incident shared a gratitude post, while also praying for the lost souls on his Instagram account.
One year ago, it pleased God to save me from a calamity. I did nothing. I wasn’t better than those who passed on. It wasn’t by my power, or anything within my means. It was purely by the grace of God. He chose to keep me. He kept me. May His name continually be praised now and for ever more, Amen. May the souls of those who passed on in the unfortunate #Reigners Church collapse continue to Rest In Peace, Amen. #Godkeptme #gratitude #thanksgiving #deogratias #grace
