Akwa Ibom LG Elections: Police Restrict Movements of Persons & Vehicles

As part of security measures for peaceful Local Government Election across the thirty-one (31) Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom, the Police in the State is deploying fifteen thousand Policemen to all the polling units, collation centers and flash points.

This was made known by the State Police Command in a Press Release issued by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. It also states that there will be restriction of movement of persons and vehicles across the State from 12 mid-night of Friday 1st December, 2017 to 6:00pm of Saturday 2nd December, 2017, except personnel on essential duties who must carry their valid identification cards.

Voters are advised to conduct themselves in orderly and peaceful manner. The command is well prepared to deal decisively with anyone bend on causing the breach of peace before, during and after the election.

Violators of this restriction of movement order will be dealt with in accordance with the Law.
