By Akaninyene Idem
A certain Emmanuel Inyang, an Aide to Akwa Ibom Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on Grassroots Mobilization in the North has drawn the battle line with his boss’ wife and Akwa Ibom First Lady, Martha Emmanuel over what he alleged as an attempt by the latter to impose a councillorship aspirant on the people of Ibiaku (Ward 3) in Mkpat Enin LGA.
According to eyewitness report, the said Inyang who also hails from the ward had gotten unconfirmed and unverified information that one of the contestants was anointed by the first lady and was to be imposed on the ward during Saturday’s nomination exercise of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which held in all 329 wards in the state.
Acting on this information, Inyang, alongside one Richard Akan (also from the ward) plotted and executed the abduction of one Idorenyin Abel who was posted to the ward by the party as Returning Officer.
Still from the report, the said Abel was taken to an unknown destination and beaten to command. It was when the police got a report on the incident that the duo (Inyang and Akan) took him to the headquarters of the state police command  and dumped him there.
Also, the report has it that Inyang had masterminded the arrest of two political elders in the ward- Martins Ikono, a former chairmanship aspirant in Mkpat Enin and CEO of Matelbot Petroleum, and Akpabio Akpabio.
According to report, Inyang has been claiming that he has the power to stop the first lady’s will in his ward, as according to him, she has no right to impose anyone on the people of the ward against their preferred choice.
