Thursday, August 3rd, 2017, saw members of the Akwa Ibom Chapter of Fellowship Of Gospel Music Ministers Of Nigeria – FOGMMON, elect officers into key positions to oversee their affairs, one year after the appointment of an interim executive and State Chapter inauguration.

Setting the tone for the kick-off of the election, Godfada Uko, the PRO of the electoral board while addressing all present, stated how important the election was to gospel artiste in Akwa Ibom, as their choice of leaders to represent them will either mean good or bad which will also reflect in their career growth to general welfare.

All vying for the different offices took turns to give their manifesto speech, outlining the various plans they individually have in other to impact in the lives of the members they will be serving and this was followed by series of questions from the audience.

Then came the final moment for the votes to be cast, but most, if not all of the positions were contested for unopposed, which left the electoral board no option than to announce them as winners of the process. Godfada Uko on behalf of the electoral board said thank you to the aspirants for conducting themselves in a proper manner throughout the entire process and thanked Pastor Mrs. Ashong for being a good host and always showing support to FOGMMON.

Pastor Mrs. Ashong of God’s Ambassadors Church congratulated the newly elected executives of FOGMMON and charged them to keep to their promises and also allow God to guide them, wishing them success in all they do. Later, she called them out and prayed for God’s blessings upon them as they carry out their assigned duties.

In an acceptance remark, Bobby Friga who emerged as the Chairman-Elect, thanked all for their support thus far, reiterating his commitment to serve diligently. Bobby, also said that with his follow Exco members and God on his side, the State Chapter will move to greater heights, which the result of that will be seen in the individual members.

The members of the new Exco are: Maggy Bam – Vice Chairman, Jossy Ekpe – Secretary General, Ani Pascal – Assist Secretary, Pearl Clement – Financial Secretary, Eno Williams – Treasurer, Emmie O’Don – Publicity Secretary, David Degospel – Organising Secretary, Assian Matthew- Assist Org.  Secretary. Others include Man Of Praise – Creative Director, Kuyikabasi Paul- Assistant Creative Director, Favour Joseph – Welfare Director, Glory King – Assist Welfare Director, Queen Esther Aniekan- Prayer Secretary and Unyimeobong Gabriel – Assistant Prayer Secretary.
