To groom natural hair has it requirements, which includes do’s, don’ts and even tools that will make its maintenance easier. Here are 10 essential tools every ‘Naturalista’ should own in her hair kit!
1) Spray Bottle
The spray bottle is used to rehydrate the hair. It allows you to shape, moisturize, and stretch hair without soaking or re-wetting the whole head. You can more evenly distribute your moisturize when applying with a spray bottle. Its perfect for moisturizing and re-twisting the hair daily before bed. You can also use your spray bottle in styling your hair.
2) Tail comb
The Tail Comb has a combing region of closely-spaced teeth at one end and a long thin “tail-like” handle. The tail is used for separating and sectioning the hair for various styling processes, from roller sets to braiding.
3) The Wide-Tooth Comb
It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes and generally larger than the styling comb and can have teeth that are as much as 1/4 to1/2 inch apart. In many cases the teeth are wider at the spine of the comb and taper toward the ends to aid in separating the hair. A wide-tooth comb is good for combing through wet hair and for combing dense or curly hair.
4) Hair Clip
This is a simple plastic hair clip that helps pull your hair back and secure it in place. You can use a clip to create a variety of styles, including a classy ponytail, a curly updo or a 3-D braid. Banana clips work best on hair that’s shoulder-length or longer.
5) Bobby pins
6) Hair Brush
A hairbrush is a stick brush with rigid or soft bristles used in hair carefor smoothing, styling, and detangling human hair, or for grooming an animal’s fur. It can also be used for styling with a curling iron or blow-dryer.
