President Buhari Appoints Two New Supreme Court Justices


Sequel to the recent nationwide uproar on the nation’s alleged corrupt Judges, President Buhari has demanded

the Nigerian Senate to appoint two new Supreme Court Justices.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, read the request letter during Tuesday’s plenary session.

According to the letter sent by the President, Bihari nominated Paul Jauro from Taraba State, North East and Sidi Bage from Nasarawa State, North Central and said that it is in line with the section 231 (2) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Justice Jauro, born in 1954 became a Judge of the high Court in 1998 and was appointed Justice of the Court of appeal in 2008.

Whilst Justice Bage was born on June 22,1956, became Federal High Court Judge in 1992 before his appointment as Justice of the Court of Appeal in 2008.

The Two Judges has been recommended for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court by the National Judicial Council.
